Department of Agriculture has awarded a $40 million grant to the Pennsylvania Department of Natural Resources to help rural Pennsylvania farmers get a bit more cash in their pockets.
The grants are aimed at helping rural farmers, including farmers of large commercial farms, expand their farms and help with a variety of crop maintenance.
The department also announced it will give out $50,000 for farmers to buy crop insurance.
The Pennsylvania Department said the grants are designed to encourage rural farmers to work on the farm and increase the productivity of their crops and increase their cash flow.
The grant was approved by a federal agency with a goal to provide rural communities with more money to provide basic foodstuffs.
