The Trump administration’s proposed rule to cut off funding to American agribusiness companies that use animals for food is likely to be the first step toward eliminating animal agriculture from the U.S. government’s food supply, according to a new report from the Center for Food Safety.
The report, which is the first major analysis of the proposed rule by the Center, found that nearly a third of the U,S.
food supply would be at risk if it goes into effect.
It’s not clear how much of that food is actually food that Americans eat, but the Center estimates that the proposed regulation would reduce the U’s annual production of the food we need to feed more than a quarter of the country’s people.
While the food supply might be cut off, the Center’s report finds that it could lead to the development of new, potentially far more harmful, food.
